ello my name is John Nasky (whoops! You're right, it's not an Irish name!) My grandfather was Russian, but my grandmother was born in Listowel in County Kerry. My relationship to her was very strong and I decided to name my business Listowel Celtic Art in her memory. Her family name was Stack. My mother's family came to the United States from County Meath. Her family name was Kitrick.
My art is original, and based on the concepts of early Irish art. All of my designs are done by my hand in colored inks, and are inspired by the ancient art of the Celtic People.
Celtic art is an ancient art that was used by the early Celts. Upon their conversion to Christianity, they were permitted to continue with what was known as pagan art and it was used to help create the Book of Kells in the 8th century. For those of you who do not know of the Book of Kells, it is the gospel according to Matthew, Mark, Luke and John.
Celtic art began for me as a hobby and soon became a full time endeavor. I have been an artist for 45 plus years, first as a commercial artist, with Celtic art as a hobby. I decided to devote my entire career to being a Celtic artist about 30 years ago, and my love for the art increases with each new day.
My purpose in displaying and marketing my art is to offer the rich heritage of the Irish / Celtic people that is so often overlooked.
I must say that it has been an exciting journey. I hope that you will enjoy your visit to my web page. Most of my work is done with colored inks, a medium that I am very comfortable with.
I have tried to make this an exciting trip for you with the help of excellent artists and great friends, Don and Shane Henderson. I thank them for their help creating this site, and for their friendship.

So this one is for you Tim...
Let not your hearts be troubled;
Believe in God, believe also in Me.
In my Father's house are many rooms;
If it were not so, Would I have told you that
I go and prepare a place for you?
And when I prepare a place for you,
I will come again and will take you myself,
that where I am you may be also.
